Kiwi Girl (Digital)

I’ve been re-visiting earlier work and playing with some digital effects. This one is described as the ‘Michael Orton’ effect. Originally the technique meant sandwiching two or three transparencies of the same image together. One layer containing the detail component, in focus and overexposed, with further layers acting as the the colour component, these being out of focus and overexposed. The digital effects behave a little differently and as you can see they have been applied to black and white negatives.
These images come from a home built studio using three office 1000w lamp stands and large black cloth.
